There are two ways to use the Pharmacy first log.
If you simply want to keep track of your points, you can follow the steps in Simple use.
If you want to keep track of more information, including the patient and any additional notes, continue on and fill in the Optional information.
To view or add to your Pharmacy first log, the first step is selecting it from the menu.
Simple use
From here, click the "Add entry" button. Doing so will take you to the add "Create log item" screen.
To save the need for large amounts of double-entry, Clara can make an entry in 4 easy steps:
From the dropdown, select the “Service”
Select whether it was a Consultation, Prescription or Referral
Choose who is making the entry
Click “Save”
This simple entry means that you can keep track of your points while only taking a minimal amount of time.
Optional information
If you would like to record more information before you save the entry you can.
Patient
Here you can select register the log entry against a specific patient in Clara.
If this is for an existing patient in Clara, simply start typing their name and select them from the list.
If it is a new patient, click "Add" at the bottom of the dropdown after typing their name. You will then see the following popover.
There are only two mandatory fields when creating the patient. You can however choose to fill in their date of birth, email address and phone number. This helps to keep your records accurate.
Name
If you typed their full name, this field should already be populated if you typed the patient's name before clicking add.
Otherwise, you will need to fill in the patient's full name.
Address
Here you can use the address search to enter the patient's home address. Simply start typing their address and the address search should intelligently suggest options. When you see the correct one, select it from the dropdown.
Optionally, you can fill in the address manually using the boxes below the search.
Notes
If you have any notes you wish to add to the entry you can do so using the large "Notes" field.
